Chris Heron

Sanctuary

Chris Heron is a modern classical / instrumental composer from Menifee, California who specializes in piano and orchestral music. What makes his music different is that it focuses heavily on the emotional aspect of a song. A song should provoke feelings, whether that be sadness, happiness, fear or joy.

Beginning at a very young age, his compositions continued to grow and mature as he did. He didn’t enjoy it that much while he was learning to play piano in his early years. “The strict nature of following rules and playing music I didn’t enjoy hindered my love for music.” says Chris. However, years after these lessons were over, his love for music returned through expressing his emotions and feelings through the ivory keys of a piano.

He would sit at the piano and simply improvise. To this day, it is still his favorite past time and a therapeutic system of relaxation for him. With each improvisation, came new melodies, and with those new melodies, came songs. As the amount of songs in his repertoire grew, he had the desire to show and perform these tracks for the public, and continues to reach out to the world through his music.

This is a beautiful instrumental album. Very true to its name, “Sanctuary” provides moments of relaxation, reflection, and a get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. As each instrument and note join the chorus of instruments, the songs aim to paint a picture within your mind, allowing you to imagine yourself in a whole new setting.

Since his music focuses on conveying an emotion, each piece is heartfelt. With its ups and downs, twists and turns, Chris’ music does its best to pull on your heartstrings and lead you to a small window into the way he feels. His dream is to be able to continue to express these emotions and feelings, and communicate the best way to the world that he can, through his music. Currently, on top of composing for albums, he also works on soundtracks for both video games and films.

He presented his compositions on cello in Experimental Theater SP in Tirana which was appreciated by the audience and it stated by a critic that “It was the first time in Albania to have such a special performance.”

Listening Among The Scenes is “A Score Collection”. It contains music from various movies Mardit B. Lleshi composed over the years. It also contains two single tracks. It is our time to introduce this gifted artist to our label fan base.

Music shows us paths to find the truth of our inner world. Nothing like music can reveal deepness of our heart and our feelings. Mardit B.Lleshi’s compositions aim to form the soul and visual images through notes. As the English writer Aldous Huxley once said, what comes after silence, which is nearest to expressing the inexpressible, is music.

Runar Blesvik - Blend

Runar Blesvik is a modern classical music composer, producer and pianist based in Oslo, Norway. He has composed for several short films and projects, thereof mainly orchestral music. Lately, he has widened his field to include intimate modern classical piano music mixed with electronic tones.

Cinematic and evocative neo-classical music is Runar Blesvik’s forte. At an early age, he felt at home in front of the piano, and has since found his voice in composing. Inspired by the stunning nature of Western Norway where he grew up, his music echoes beautiful and dramatic landscapes, as well as different states of mind. Spectral piano chords and wistful melodies contrasted with rigorous electronic soundscapes will guide you through a deeply affecting and diverse experience. Runar produces, records and mixes all the music he releases.

Runar Blesvik’s debut album is a blend between different soundscapes - from emotional, fluid neoclassical piano pieces to dark, enigmatic electronic music. Combining haunting melodies with layered harmonies, the organic with the synthetic has made the music contrasted and unpredictable. Exploring both the classical and pure as well as the synthesised and abnormal, this music will take your on a cruise between two different worlds.

Inspired by some of today's and yesteryears’ leading composers in modern classical and electronic music, Runar Blesvik has paid homage to different styles while making his compositions truly unique. “1976” is a callback to Jean-Michel Jarre’s heyday, while “Flow” explores the layered piano sounds of Nils Frahm.

Cold, Cold Heart - Arch

For the past two years Cold, Cold Heart have been working (slowly) on the follow up to their BBC 6 music celebrated debut album and return with an EP entitled ‘Arch’.

Cold, Cold Heart is a post-rock / ambient band from London, UK. Robert, Chris and Gareth assembled in early 2014 out of friendship and a shared admiration for bands such as Stars of the Lid, Low and Sparklehorse. It is this character that informed the band’s 2015 debut, “How The Other Half Live And Die”, an album so tuned into heartbreak and loss and then mourned and celebrated in a collection of ruptured, elegiac and sky-bound instrumentals. “How The Other Half Live And Die” stands as a shared soundtrack to life. “Anxiety, illness, depression, hope and repair are all things that can be felt by anyone, at any point. We have all had our fair share”, explains Robert. To the fear and beauty in death.

With time and focus spent on the development of their sound, the result transports the listener through life itself, representing the roaming adventure towards happiness and contentment. Entwined with the narrative, the integration of a string quartet and modular synthesizers have bolstered the grandeur, leaving the listener captivated by their sonic exposition.

Recorded in Surbiton and West Sussex throughout 2016 and 2017 ‘Arch’ comes from a simplistic, pure place; displaying an incredible and developed sense of control and restraint in their work, while still resonating between order and chaos, glitter and dirt, beauty and destruction. Nothing is planned or predetermined with Cold, Cold Heart’s output, only that it’s a journey worth taking.

OP3 - Lumina

OP3 is an ambient and atmospheric music journey, with elements from different genres of music such as modern classical composition, jazz, electro and folk rhythms all coming together to provide the listener with a unique audio experience. When it comes to the live aspect of the project, these elements combined with a strong narrative, poetry and literature are coming to life by a small cast of actors flattered by the outstanding background visuals and artistically placed light show. An OP3 live show is a unique form of art one should experience.

“Lumina” is the third official release of OP3 and as the project leader Dimitris Mitropapas states, “The most expressive and vivid elements of our music so far, in display!”.

The 3-track EP capitalizes the theme of “darkness” and “light” as a metaphor for our lives. Everyone has their moments of light and on the contrary, we all do serve a great time in darkness, especially on those days when nothing seems to get off the ground. The album’s main task is to resonate with the listener in ways that make one feeling grateful to be alive and experience the ups and downs of the human nature. It’s the only way to feel alive after all. Regarding the sound elements of this release, the piano and the string quartet now has a more haunting vibe than ever as well as the electronics are sounding even more alive and being much more original both sonically and progressively.

“Lumina” is being used as a passage to make way for the next full album of OP3, titled “SmyrnAe”. In a way, it prepares the listener for what is to come in the new album since on “Lumina”, OP3 introduces new sounds and instruments resonating more with the folk and jazz elements that the new album will have in abundance.

Three tracks “Out of Darkness”, “Into the Light” and “Lumina” have been chosen to synthesize and exhibit the theme of this constant circle of our lives in an attempt to heal, motivate and breathe life into getting the best out of our human nature.

Wendell Roth - The Vulture & The Sparrow

Fluttery Records present Wendell Roth’s breathtaking modern classical work. With the cadence and candour of a cinematic score, The Vulture & the Sparrow is a musical journey through the darkness and back out to the light. Interwoven amongst the tracks is a very haunting and percussive piano, transcendent violin, and a cello saturated in earthiness which come together to create an experience that is both ethereal and grounding. Carefully chosen and interspersed synthesizers add an additional element that is unique to this album.

“This album is similar to “Immersion” in that both are microcosmic interpretations of something, this album is just a different object of interpretation; the very well known, very human, and very despairing internal struggle of the dark against the light.”

The title of this album is very applicable to the feeling of the music. The instruments play off each other in a fashion similar to a duet, most notably in the title track. There is a constant theme of a dance between them, one proposing an idea and then another offering a new perspective.

“The Vulture is one person, and the sparrow is another, and yet of course they are both the same. They are always the same, and they create each other. The reason I chose the vulture as a theme is because I believe that these birds are misunderstood, as is much of what is dark, including aspects of ourselves.”

Wendell Roth - Immersion

Wendell Roth’s debut album, Immersion, is an introspective journey into the more subtle rhythms of the Earth and the human experience. Written and recorded in “The Tea House”, as Wendell fondly refers to the 10×10 hut where Wendell resided in Virginia for the year that this album took to produce, Immersion incorporates many nuances and “imperfections” that add to the ambience of the experience, such as footsteps, sliding piano keys, a crackling fire, and bird calls. Wendell refers to the production of this album as “a way for me to bring what was hidden into the light.”

Immersion is Wendell’s first endeavour into the world of modern classical music, and the first serious pursuit of album production as well. The experience of doing all the production work himself was “terribly important. If I had sent the music off to be recorded/mixed/mastered by a professional (which I was tempted to do many times), it would have come back to me in a different language, and the intimacy would have been lost.”

“Every song on this album is about a very profound and particular experience for me. My writing process involved taking a freeze frame of a memory or emotion, and taking a magnifying glass to that very specific moment, and expanding it into music.”
